the sharingan discourse
Believe it or not, the mere existence of Tei's eyes has caused huge amounts of salt in the past. People seem to think that I'm writing an overpowered dime-a-dozen Uchiha OC, or that I took a canon character and gave her Sharingan eyes just for the lulz. Now, I'm totally okay with people just not knowing, but almost all of the time, the people in question usually bitch to me like headless chickens instead of just talking to me like a reasoned adult. So, you'll have to excuse the somewhat condescending tone in this webpage.
First of all, you have to understand that Tei is not an OC. Click "Disclaimer" or "Canon Information" in the sidebar if you haven't gotten that far yet. When Tei was officially released, one of the character details on her official character profile was that she has Sharingan eyes. This character profile was, and is, canon; in fact, it is basically the ONLY canon information about her. This is an indisputable fact, and if you don't believe me but are too lazy to do the research yourself, I will provide several pieces of evidence so you know that I'm not making this up just for shits and giggles.
Now, it is worth noting that her profile is very sparse on the details. According to some translations and popular fan interpretation, Tei's eyes are only Sharingans when she is covered in blood. I haven't been able to find Japanese text stating this (however it is reinforced in Japanese fanart), so I'm hesitant to say that facet is absolutely canon.
When I first made this account in 2012, all I had to work with regarding her eyes was "has three-tome Sharingan eyes when covered in blood." (Her official art shows them to be three-tome/fully mature.) I decided that I might as well make use of them, and did character development over the years in a way that I felt was fair and made sense.
I'd like to answer some actual questions and complaints I have gotten about this:
"Lizardo! I don't believe you! You're just making this shit up to justify RPing someone with Sharingans!"
First of all: If I wanted to RP someone with Sharingans, I'd make a Sasuke. Second, if I wanted to RP someone powerful, I'd make a Beerus.
But, sure, whatever. Have some evidence. There's more out there, but here's what I could be arsed to gather in about twenty minutes:

"I still don't believe you! *pauses to adjust tin foil hat* Clearly you've forged each and every one of these, even the ones that were made in 2010 which is over two years before your twitter account was even made."
Thankfully, there are options available to you.
"I'm paired against you in a fight RP and thanks to her Sharingans I'm barely able to do anything to her."
When I notice a difference in power between Tei and her opponent in most RPs including tournaments, I will purposely nerf her. I will make most of her strikes miss, or have her tired, or make up some arbitrary reason why she can't use some of her powers. But you could have been paired against any other powerful character, including ones more powerful than mine, and that really isn't my problem.
"I have legitimate concerns about you choosing to enter tournaments with a character who is, in a sense, a parody character."
You should probably be more concerned with Saitama RPers, given the fact Saitama is far more powerful than Tei will ever be and the fact he is also a parody character. In any case, you're not under any obligation to RP with me, but if you quit a tournament over a canon detail about my character, you may look just a little bit silly.
"It isn't fair for you to develop her powers. Just stick with the three-tome that's canon and leave it at that."
All of Tei's powers are based upon Naruto's canon information. She does not have any powers exclusive to one character, nor is she more powerful than the strongest characters in the show.
Not allowing a canon RP character, especially one which doesn't even have a TV show or manga, to develop? I think that's unfair, especially when other canon characters take development to extreme levels. In the original Dragon Ball, Goku was strong enough to win the martial arts tournament. As of the latest Dragon Ball series, he is strong enough to spar with gods capable of planetary destruction. If Goku can develop to such extremes, why can't Tei develop to a much lesser non-Godly extent?
I agree that some people take character development too far; they try to rush it or they try to become godly just so they can stomp on everyone else. But there is no reason why a character with supernatural powers who values the safety of her lover would not train. And if she does train, that must mean some progress is made by now. You have to keep in mind I've had this account for over four years. By RP standards, where pregnancies last maybe a week in real time, Tei's absolutely ancient and has had ample opportunity to develop. If you can't respect that, well, that's more of something you've got to work on than something I've got to apologize for.
